South Bellmore Civic Explores Neighborhood Watch Program

Editor's Note: This article was written by Allison Frankel, the president of the South Bellmore Civic Association.

Officer Sharon Galvin will speak at Monday’s South Bellmore Civic Meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m. in the Bellmore Memorial Library.

She'll introduce the program to us and explain how it works. Most bordering towns have had this system in play for many years.

It's time we do the same to protect the safety of our families, especially after experiencing a few burglaries in the area.

A block captain is needed on each street from all three peninsula's. If a resident see's something suspicious, they call the captain and the captain calls the police department (this can be done anonymously as well).

Please email us ASAP at southbellmorecivic@gmail.com if you're willing to be a block captain for your street. We have a handful of residents who volunteered already, but we do need more.
