Levittowner Nominated to Run for District Court Judge

Howard Taylor will seek election this November.

Levittown resident Howard Taylor has been found "Well Qualified" for district court judge by the Nassau County Bar Association and has received the nomination of the Republican, Conservative and Independence parties to seek election this November.

For almost 30 years, Taylor has made a career in municipal government as a legal counsel and legal advocate for citizens seeking help and support from their county and town.

As the current Town of Hempstead Legal Counsel and Deputy Receiver of Taxes, Taylor specializes in helping taxpayers lower their taxes by grieving unfair assessments to ensure they don't pay more than their fair share and has assisted thousands of senior and veterans homeowners in obtaining their property tax exemptions.

During his tenure as Hempstead Town Deputy Receiver of Taxes, Nassau Assessment Deputy Director, Counsel to the Nassau County Executive and Deputy County Attorney, Taylor has demonstrated a knowledge of the law, how it is applied and the impact those laws and ordinances have on communities and their residents.

Ever the practicing attorney, Taylor assisted in the development of laws and ordinances that helped to improve the environment, streamlined the operations of government and reduced government operating costs.

No stranger to the courtroom, Taylor has appeared as a defender of local government, the government closest to the people, in numerous cases spanning decades. He has also served as the county executive's liaison to the criminal justice system including the Nassau Courts System, district attorney's office and police department.

His leadership and ability has been recognized by his peers being elected as president of the Nassau Lawyers Association. Taylor knows and understands the law, understands people and possesses a manner and temperament that makes him highly qualified to serve as a Nassau County District Court Judge.

A magna cum laude graduate of Hofstra University and member of Phi Beta Kappa, Taylor was admitted to the Bar from Hofstra Law School in 1983 and is a member of the Nassau, New York State and American Bar Associations as well as the Nassau-Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association.

A life-long resident of Levittown, husband and father of two children, Taylor has deep roots on Long Island and is demonstrating his concern for its communities and its people by running for district court judge.

Natalie. I am so sorry to read this. I too have a little 5 yr. old dog who I love desperately...Read More and I feel your pain. There is another website for an organization that does an amazing job finding lost pets. It's LOSTMYDOGGIE.COM There is a small fee, but they get signs up all over the area and have a phone system set up where everyone in the area of where she was lost gets a PHONE CALL ALERT message to watch for Molly. They leave a phone number and their website address so if anyone has seen her or has her they know where to call. Great system! Check it out! I've never used them, but I HAVE received calls myself recently on 2 separate lost dogs and I've seen the many photos they hung up in my area in Levittown for dogs lost within a few miles of this area. In other words, they DO what they say they will do to help find Molly. Just want you to know what is out there to help you bring Molly home. My grandkids go to school around Grand and Camp Ave. We'll be watching for her! God Bless and good luck! I'm sure she will be returned to you real soon!!
