Jones Leading Williams in GOP Primary
Fred J. Jones would face Legislator David Denenberg in the November election for the 19th Legislative District seat.
Fred J. Jones was leading Jaswick S. Williams in Tuesday's Republican primary election to decide who will face Democratic incumbent Legislator Dave Denenberg in November.
As of 11:15 p.m., Jones was ahead 461 to 77, earning more than 85 percent of the vote, according to the Nassau County Board of Elections. Williams was also trailing Jones on the Conservative line.
Jones is a chiropractor from Merrick and Williams hails from Elmont.

Denenberg was first elected to the legislature in 1999. The The 19th Legislative District includes the communities of Bellmore and Merrick and portions of Freeport and Wantagh.
