Public Works Projects in the 19th District

County Legislator Dave Denenberg will announce numerous Nassau County public works projects in his Bellmore-Merrick district. Joined by the County Executive and public works officials, Leg. Denenberg hosts this forum to discuss these projects.  

Projects include:

• Streetscaping (brick pavers, decorative benches, receptacles, antique lighting, etc.) on portions of Merrick Road in Merrick and Bellmore; 
• Design for, and rehabilitation of, Bellmore Avenue between Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway; 
• Completion of Wantagh Park’s marine playground and common areas, and marina; 
• Installation of an all-purpose turf field at Cedar Creek Park; 
• Smith Pond dredging and rehabilitation;
• Various other projects.  

County projects focus on county roads (typically, the main streets), parks and facilities.  Residential streets fall under the jurisdiction of the Town of Hempstead or Village of Freeport.
