State Senator Charles Fuschillo announced this event.
"Like so many of you, I am completely disgusted with LIPA's performance in restoring power to so many of those affected by Hurricane Irene," Sen. Fuschillo said. "Hundreds of residents have contacted my office over the last several days seeking assistance. As a result of LIPA's slow performance, we are dealing directly with the Governor's office which has been very helpful."
Supervisor Kate Murray and I have arranged to have the New York State Insurance Department's Mobile Office Van available at the Merrick Town Park on the corner of Merrick Road and Clubhouse Road in Merrick.
