Three Arrested After Fleeing from Cops in Bellmore

Three men were arrested Thursday for a burglary they committed in Rosyln Heights, police said.

According to detectives, John Coello, 22, of Union City, NJ, was seen driving a vehicle with stolen plates on Sunrise Highway in Bellmore around 1:15 a.m. After police attempted to pull his car over, Coello attempted to flee, and he intentionally rammed into a New York State Trooper's car in the process.

Two state troopers sustained minor injuries, and they were treated and released from a local hospital.

Coello's vehicle was eventually stopped and he was placed under arrest.

A second vehicle, occupied by Christopher Thomas, 26, of Matteson, IL, and Duane Holmes, 41, of North Bergen, NJ, fled the scene but was spotted and stopped on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, police said. Both men were placed under arrest.

An investigation revealed that the three allegedly acted together in a robbery at Jet Communications in Roslyn Heights, cops said.

Coello has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault, as well as third-degree burglary and reckless driving. Thomas and Holmes were charged with third-degree burglary as well. Their arraignment is scheduled for Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
