A student from Newbridge Road School was allegedly followed home from school by a person in a white van Friday evening.
According to police, around 5 p.m., a 12-year-old male was walking home from school when he noticed a white van was following him. The child made it home unharmed and told his parents, who then called police.
Whether the person in the van attempted to speak to the child or lure him into the van is unknown at this time, as police are still investigating the incident. Police did not have an exact location of where the incident took place.
Police also said it was too soon to tell if Friday's incident was in any way related to a similar occurrence on Monday, during which a female student of Mepham High School was approached by a man in a white van who asked if she "wanted a ride" as she walked along Pea Pond Road in Bellmore.
