Police Seek Public's Help With Unsolved Murder Case

New York State police are seeking public information concerning the murder of 39-year-old Tanya Rush of Brooklyn.

State police are seeking the public’s help with identifying those involved in the murder of a Brooklyn woman. 

The New York State Police Troop L Major Crime Unit and the New York State Crime Stoppers are offering up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the death of Tanya Rush, a 39-year-old black female who resided on Livonia Avenue in Brooklyn.

Rush’s remains were found on June 27, 2008 in a suitcase on the Newbridge Road exit ramp on the westbound side of the Southern State Parkway in North Bellmore.

Anyone with pertinent information is being asked to call the NYS Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-866-313-TIPS or the NYS Police Troop L Headquarters at (631) 756-3300, which is completely anonymous. You can also go to the NYS Crime Stoppers website and download the NYS Crime Stoppers mobile app to send an email or photo tip anonymously.

Any information, however insignificant it may seem, is welcome and could help solve this case, police said.
