Police Investigating Bank Robbery in North Bellmore

Authorities are looking for a man that robbed Chase Bank on Bellmore Avenue.

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in North Bellmore on Friday. 

According to police, a white man entered Chase Bank at 1542 Bellmore Ave. around 5:50 p.m. and waited to be called by the teller.

After approaching the teller and presenting a demand note, the suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank southbound on Newbridge Road, police said. 

Four customers were in the bank at the time of the incident, but no one was injured. 

The man was described as being 26 to 27-years-old, 5 foot eight, 140 to 145 pounds, with a thin build and a thin goatee/beard. The suspect was wearing jeans and a black scarf that was covering the lower part of his face, authorities said.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
