The judge granted restraining orders to Sharpe’s wife, son and his other 5-year-old son.

From Newsday:

The New York Police Department confirmed last night that Sharp is an officer on the Brooklyn gang unit but had no immediate information about his tenure with the department or status after the arrest. Authorities contend Sharp punched his 3-year-old son in the face, "causing swelling and bruising to the victim's right eye, cheek and the bridge of his nose." The boy's injuries "necessitated treatment at a hospital," according to a Nassau police statement in court documents.

Sharp also allegedly punched a hole in the wall during an argument Saturday with his wife, police said. He also allegedly admitted to having a few drinks earlier in the day.

Sharp is due back in court on March 18.
