Fire Damages Second Floor of Laux Place Home

No one was injured in the early morning fire, fire officials said.

The North Bellmore Fire Department responded to a fire that started on the second floor of a single-family home at 100 Laux Place early Saturday morning.

"We are not sure what caused the fire," North Bellmore Fire Chief Doug Sherwood said. "Most of the fire started on the second floor and burned to the first."

According to Sherwood, the fire started around 8:30 a.m. and was knocked down around 9 a.m. He said that there were no injuries and no one was in the home when the fire started.

Fire departments from Bellmore, Wantagh and East Meadow responded to the scene, Sherwood said.
