NEARBY: Man Drowns in East Meadow Pool

Cops said the matter is still under investigation.

Detectives are investigating the the death of a 26-year-old man in an East Meadow pool Tuesday, cops told Patch.

The victim, who's name is being held pending family notification, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) after police were called to the School Street home at 2:15 p.m. He was pronounced dead at 3:15 p.m.

Police said a 20-year-old man pulled the victim from the pool and attempted CPR before he was transported to NUMC.

According to Newsdaythe pool he drowned in is eight feet deep. None of the four people that live there were home. A friend, who routinely does things around the house for the family, was over to pull up a rug.

Richard Langone, the attorney for the home's family, told Newsday his client did not expect the man to bring two others, one of whom was the victim.

Police added that the matter is still under investigation.
