Niheim Levy, 34, was placed on suicide watch after his arraignment on Sunday, according to an article in Newsday.

The Roosevelt man that was arrested for his alleged role in an assault at the Bellmore Long Island Rail Road Station that led to the death of a 49-year-old Freeport man was placed on suicide watch after his arraignment on Sunday, according to an article in Newsday.

Assistant District Attorney Everett Witherell told Newsday that Niheim Levy, 34, punched the victim and that the two fought before the defendant robbed him on the tracks by the Long Island Rail Road station in Bellmore.

Levy was charged with felony murder and first-degree robbery.

The initial call to police at 4:50 a.m. on Saturday reported that a man had fallen from the station platform onto the tracks after he had a seizure, according to Aaron Donovan, spokesperson for the Long Island Rail Road.

An investigation by the Nassau County Police Department and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police led to Levy's arrest.
