Sixth grade girls approached by woman in gold minivan on Red Maple Drive North on Tuesday.

Levittown school officials are warning parents to be alert after two girls were approached by a woman in a van.

Two sixth grade girls were approached by a woman in a van while walking on Red Maple Drive North on Tuesday afternoon, according to a voicemail obtained by Patch.

The woman reportedly tried to convince the girls to get into the van. The students refused and called police, according to the message that was sent out Friday at 11:35 a.m.

The woman was described as being of Indian descent and was wearing a head scarf at the time. The minivan was a gold color.

Levittown officials are warning all parents to tell their children to be cautious and avoid being alone on streets and in play areas.

That's so sad! Kids rarely go outside anymore and this is what they have to deal with!

The area knew about this Tuesday night, but I think the district could've done a better job of alerting everyone earlier than Friday
