UPDATE: Gas Station Robbed at Gunpoint

Suspects took an unknown amount of cash and five packs of cigarettes.

The BP Gas Station at 2425 Merrick Road was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday morning.

According to Nassau County detectives, a 21-year-old male employee at the gas station was approached inside by two masked black males. The first suspect displayed a black handgun and demanded money, while the second suspect stood by the front door.

The first suspect hit the employee on the head with the handgun then proceeded to open the register and take an unknown amount of cash and five packs of cigarettes, police said.

According to police, the suspects both fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The employee refused medical attention.

Police are still investigating the incident.
