Crimes Nearby: Man Beaten With Wooden Table Leg, Car Stolen

East Meadow 

  • A Levittown man was arrested on April 4 after police said he broke into a Bethpage home and beat a man inside with a wooden table leg, then hours later stole a car from Auto World on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow and crashed while under the influence of drugs. Levittown 
  • A drag link was found cut off a car on Trumpet Lane in Levittown on March 27. 
  • Copper baseboard heating and copper piping was stolen off Carnation Road in Levittown on March 30. 
  • Tires and rims was stolen from a car at Honda City on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown on March 30. 
  • A window was broken on an vehicle parked on Skylark Lane in Levittown on April 2. 
  • A car was stolen on Emerson Ave. in Levittown on April 2. 
Seaford
  • The sunroof of a vehicle parked on Douglas Place in Seaford was found smashed on March 27. No loss was reported.
  • On March 29, Russell Phillips, 34, of Huntington Station was arrested at the intersection of Merrick Road and Neptune Avenue in Seaford and charged with driving while intoxicated as well as three vehicle and traffic violations.
  • A man on Bit Path in Seaford reported that he discovered damage to his PVC fence on April 1.
Wantagh 
  • Two fences were discovered damaged on Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh on March 25 and 26.
  • The side of a shed at an office in Wantagh Park was discovered damaged on March 28.
  • On March 29, Thomas Mulvey, 45, of Bellmore was arrested on Princeton Drive North in Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated.
  • A woman reported on March 29 that she accidentally dropped her purse in the parking lot of Dunkin Donuts on Sunrise Highway in Wantagh and entered the store. Upon realizing the purse was dropped, she returned to the parking lot and discovered it missing.
  • A man at the Citgo Gas Station on 3539 Merrick Road in Wantagh reported on March 31 that a hose was placed in the cab his vehicle with water filled in it. The complainant also discovered water in his gas tank.
  • A fence was reported damaged on Amherst Drive in Wantagh on March 31.
  • On April 1, William Finnizzia, 68, of Massapequa Park was arrested on Sunrise Highway in Wantagh and charged with third-degree assault, driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired.
