Crime Report: Calhoun Students Followed, Purse Snatcher Update

  • Around 3:10 a.m. on April 30, a generator was removed from a garage on Willis Avenue, but it was left in the victim's driveway.
  • Sometime between 11 p.m. on April 29 and 7:30 a.m. on April 30, hubcaps were stolen off of a vehicle that was parked on Stuyvesant Avenue in Merrick.
  • Sometime on April 30, a man left his tool bag inside a residence on Lee Place in Bellmore, but when he returned, his iPhone was missing from the bag.
  • On May 4, at 3:05 a.m., Caterina Leonardo, 46, of Whitestone, was arrested at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Bellmore Avenue and charged with driving while intoxicated and three violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • On April 30, at 9 a.m., Adrianne Greenberg, 51, of Merrick, was arrested at the intersection of South St. Marks Avenue and Merrick Road and charged with driving while ability impaired.
  • Sometime between 6 p.m. on May 6 and 7 a.m. on May 7, an unknown suspect stole property out of an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Kayron Lane in North Bellmore.
  • Sometime between 10 p.m. on May 4 and 6 a.m. on May 5, 10-20 teens entered the fenced in pool which is under construction at the former Gunther School property and damaged approximately $100 worth of tiles.
  • On May 8, between 8:15 a.m. and 2:40 p.m., a vehicle's window was broken while it was parked on Bellmore Avenue.
  • Sometime between 8 p.m. on May 9 and 8 a.m. on May 10, a vehicle's tires were slashed while parked on Davenport Place in North Bellmore.
  • On May 11, at 12:25 a.m., Wayne Alcus, 44, of Copiague, was arrested at Antoinette's Restaurant, which is located at 2701 Merrick Rd., and charged with assault after he punched the manager.
