Crime Nearby: Equipment Missing from Fire Department, Men Arrested for Wantagh Robbery

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Bellmore

  • A fireman’s boot was removed from the Bellmore Fire Department on Oct. 26.
  • On Nov. 14 and Nov. 16, a commercial property on Bellmore Avenue in Bellmore was broken into through the rear window. Baseball cards were stolen.
  • On Nov. 18, batteries valued at $974 were stolen from the Rite Aid on Merrick Road. According to police, a weapon was used.
  • On Nov. 19, Camille Dandola, age 51, of Bellmore, was arrested on South St. Marks Avenue, Bellmore and charged with driving while intoxicated and three violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • A complainant discovered that the chain link fence was cut at LIPA.
  • On Nov. 20, Marc Rubin, age 46, of Bellmore, was arrested on Centre Avenue, Bellmore and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and two violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • A vehicle was reported scratched on Newbridge Road on Nov. 25.

 

Merrick

  • On Nov. 14, a home on Lincoln Boulevard was entered through a rear window. No loss was reported.
  • A complainant that lives on Lindenmere Drive received a phone call from someone who she believed to be her grandson stating he got into trouble with the law in Barcelona and needed her to wire over $2,000 to get him out of jail.  In addition, someone claiming to be from the U.S. Embassy called with instructions to wire the money. Complainant complied and later spoke to her grandson who stated he was not in Barcelona. This incident was reported to the police on Nov. 15.
  • A 2011 black Mercedes that was located on Wynsum Avenue on Nov. 16 was keyed.
  • On Nov. 18, a complainant discovered the driver side window of her 2010 white GMC Yukon Denali broken and her iPhone was stolen.
  • A vehicle was reported damaged on William Street on Nov. 20.

 

Seaford

  • A gray 2000 Honda Civic was stolen from the Seaford railroad parking lot on Nov. 16.
  • On Nov. 16, James Brunhuber, age 55, of Seaford, was arrested on Merrick Road near West Shore Drive, Massapequa and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • On Nov. 19, Ryan Cirllo, age 21, of Seaford, was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Hicksville Road, Massapequa and charged with resisting arrest and five violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • On Nov. 19, an Unknown suspect(s) stole three to five paving stones from complainant’s front yard on Ralph Street South.
  • An unknown suspect(s) stole tires and rims from complainant’s 2011 white Toyota Camry. The car was located on Bernice Road.

 

Wantagh

  • On Nov. 17, an unknown suspect(s) knocked over a light pole in the rear parking lot of the Wantagh Library.
  • On Nov. 18, Boris Jairala, age 32, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Merrick Road near First Street, Wantagh and charged with robbery in the second degree.
  • On Nov. 18, Edward Danziger, age 47, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Merrick Road near First Street, Wantagh and charged with robbery in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the second degree, resisting arrest and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree.
  • On Nov. 18, Michael Devivo, age 22, of Bethpage, was arrested on Beech Street near Woodward Avenue, Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • An unknown suspect(s) stole tires and rims from complainant’s 2009 black Honda Accord on Nov. 19. The car was located on Hawthorne Drive East.

The NBUFSD BOE has not mentioned cutting bussing in over a year, it is not a part of the 2013-2014Read More budget. The pensions and benefits are not regulated by the BOE it is a state mandate.

Well for starters, why not give candidates 401K's and only pay a proportion of their benefits...HireRead More teachers and adm that actually live in our district...... Has anybody proposed dismantling the high school district......From the way I understand they have tried unsuccessfully to combine, well then how about saving moneu and splitting up the 3 high schools...This was we wont need 2 administrations...... I will try and I will think out of the box!

So Lu Scala never had any children so it might be safe to say you have never been to a PTA meetingRead More or a School Board meeting or a budget presentation so then you would have no idea how the money is spent good or bad. I'm sorry that your neighbors make more than you but like anything else you get what you pay for there are educational requirements for teaching and administration jobs, I'm sure you would be happy if all the school personnel could be replaced by minimum wage earners or better yet we could close all the schools after all you have been out of school for 40 years so you don't need them anymore, but thats not how it works. Why is always the uninformed that speak loudest and longest?

I never had any kids.. and am the last kid who went to to the Bellmore Merrick school system.....itsRead More been almost 40 years since I was a Mempham grad..and it is very disharting to hear that my many many high tax dollars..are not enought for these kids I have been sororting all these years!!! Who is getting all the money??? Its all bull.. aI live inbetween teachers.. how is it they can afford high end cars, housekeepers, landscapers, ect??????... the money is being spent in the WRONG WAYS TO THE TEACHERS, AND MOST OF ALL THE ADMISTRATION, THE SCHOOL BOARD ECT... I AM CALLING FOR A MASSIVE AUDIT AND GET0 per year.. they afe not worth any more then that.. THE MONEY BACK FROM ANYONE WHO WAS PAID MORE THEN $75,00....
