Crime Nearby: Cooking Oil Stolen, Tires Slashed

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department; it does not indicate a conviction.

Bellmore

  • On May 25, Yvette Campbell, 28, of North Bellmore, was arrested at H&M, 1 Sunrise Mall, Massapequa and charged with petit larceny, possession of burglary tools and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree.
  • Two tires were slashed on May 26. The vehicle was located on Sunrise Highway.
  • On May 28, Thomas Bochichio, 38, of Bellmore, was arrested on Melvin Place, Seaford and charged with driving while ability impaired and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.

East Meadow

  • Sometime between May 21 and May 22, graffiti was found on the Meadow Court Shopping Center in East Meadow.

Merrick

  • Sometime between May 23 and May 24, an unknown suspect(s) smashed the driver side window of complainant’s 2012 black Mercedes. The car was parked on Clubhouse Road.
  • On May 25, Jeffrey Wichmann, 49, of Mount Sinai, was arrested on Benson Avenue near Hewlett Avenue, Merrick and charged with driving while intoxicated, two counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated in the first degree and five violations of the vehicle and traffic law.

Seaford

  • Sometime between May 21 and May 22, an unknown suspect(s) stole complainant’s property from their unlocked 2007 white Chrysler van that was parked on Tiana Street.
  • On May 26, Moises Campos, 23, of Huntington Station, was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Rt. 135, Seaford and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree and three violations of the vehicle and traffic law.

Wantagh

  • A bicycle was stolen from the Wantagh Railroad Station on May 21.
  • On May 22, Wilmyn Abreu, 24, of Copiague, was arrested on Larch Street near Walters Avenue, Wantagh and charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree and six violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • A complainant discovered used cooking oil removed from a container at Salpino’s.
  • Sometime between May 25 and May 26, two vehicle doors were damaged. The vehicles were located on Old Mill Road.
  • An unknown suspect(s) slashed two of complainant’s tires on their 2012 white Ford pick-up that was located on Austin Avenue. This happened sometime between May 26 and May 27.

The NBUFSD BOE has not mentioned cutting bussing in over a year, it is not a part of the 2013-2014Read More budget. The pensions and benefits are not regulated by the BOE it is a state mandate.

Well for starters, why not give candidates 401K's and only pay a proportion of their benefits...HireRead More teachers and adm that actually live in our district...... Has anybody proposed dismantling the high school district......From the way I understand they have tried unsuccessfully to combine, well then how about saving moneu and splitting up the 3 high schools...This was we wont need 2 administrations...... I will try and I will think out of the box!

So Lu Scala never had any children so it might be safe to say you have never been to a PTA meetingRead More or a School Board meeting or a budget presentation so then you would have no idea how the money is spent good or bad. I'm sorry that your neighbors make more than you but like anything else you get what you pay for there are educational requirements for teaching and administration jobs, I'm sure you would be happy if all the school personnel could be replaced by minimum wage earners or better yet we could close all the schools after all you have been out of school for 40 years so you don't need them anymore, but thats not how it works. Why is always the uninformed that speak loudest and longest?

I never had any kids.. and am the last kid who went to to the Bellmore Merrick school system.....itsRead More been almost 40 years since I was a Mempham grad..and it is very disharting to hear that my many many high tax dollars..are not enought for these kids I have been sororting all these years!!! Who is getting all the money??? Its all bull.. aI live inbetween teachers.. how is it they can afford high end cars, housekeepers, landscapers, ect??????... the money is being spent in the WRONG WAYS TO THE TEACHERS, AND MOST OF ALL THE ADMISTRATION, THE SCHOOL BOARD ECT... I AM CALLING FOR A MASSIVE AUDIT AND GET0 per year.. they afe not worth any more then that.. THE MONEY BACK FROM ANYONE WHO WAS PAID MORE THEN $75,00....
