Cops: Bellmore Man Assaults Victim After He Refuses to Buy Items for Sale

Defendant also allegedly demanded cash and credit cards from the victim.

A Bellmore man was arrested at his home Thursday afternoon after Nassau County Police say he allegedly assaulted a victim he was showing items he had for sale.

According to detectives, Anthony Pascullo, 22, invited a 28-year-old male victim to his residence to view some items he had for sale. When the victim refused to purchase any merchandise the defendant struck him in the left arm and left leg with a metal baseball bat.

Pascullo then allegedly demanded money and the victim surrendered several hundred dollars. While still holding the bat the defendant allegedly demanded more money and the victim gave him a credit card and more cash.

The victim then fled the scene and notified police. Seventh precinct police officers responded and placed Pascullo into custody.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released. A metal baseball bat was recovered inside the residence and the defendant was found in possession of cash and the victim’s credit card.

The defendant was charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.
