A police officer was taken to the hospital after a three-car collision on North Jerusalem Road and East Meadow Avenue on Tuesday.
The officer sustained minor injuries.
According to Sgt. William Iger, the officer was driving eastbound on East Meadow Avenue around 11:50 a.m.
"He had on his lights and sirens and I believe the light was in the process of changing," Iger said.
A white SUV that was driving southbound hit the officer's car, which spun out of control, then hit a third car.
Iger said the officer will be fine.
"He had some whiplash and some bumps, but nothing serious," he said.
