Bellmore Man Arrested For Drug Possession

After Johnson Chad, 32, of Bellmore was arrested, a large amount of drugs and money was found in his car, authorities said.

A Bellmore man was arrested for drug possession on Thursday, according to police. 

According to authorities, Johnson Chad, 32, was seen driving his 2001 Ford at a high speed west of Merrick Road and Lefferts Place. A vehicle and traffic law stop was then initiated by officers at which time they smelled a strong odor of marijuana and noticed an electronic cigarette, commonly used for smoking Hashish, police said. 

Chad was then removed from the vehicle and placed into custody.

During an investigation, three large bags with three pounds of marijuana, one small bag of cocaine, 10 white Hydrocodone pills, two yellow Hydrocodone pills and $3,020 in US currency were found, police said. 

Chad was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and a vehicle and traffic law violation.
