Several fire trucks and other emergency personnel vehicles responded to Matteo's Restaurant on Bedford Avenue Thursday night.
According to a worker at Pasquale's across the street, a fire broke out in the basement of the popular Italian restaurant.
Firefighters were seen opening a hydrant on the corner of Linden Street to access a water line.
