Bellmore firefighters extinguished a blaze that started in a two-story house on Shore Road on Monday.

A firefighter sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene.

According to Chief Steven Marsar, the fire started on the first floor of the home around 9:40 a.m. and extended to the second floor.

The owners of the home were not in the dwelling at the time of the blaze.
