A man attempted to rob the BP Gas Station on Merrick Road in Bellmore early Sunday morning, according to police.
Detectives reported that a male black suspect armed with a black handgun, dressed in a black jacket, black hat and scarf, carrying a black duffel bag approached the station. He was observed by a 22-year-old male attempting to open a locked door. The suspect then allegedly fled northbound on Newbridge Road.
