A Bellmore man died on Saturday after he crashed his car into a tree, New York State Police said.
Zachary Avanzato, 23, was driving a 1972 Chevrolet Impala southbound on the Wantagh State Parkway in Wantagh when he drove into the median shoulder for unknown reasons and struck a tree around 6:22 p.m., police said.
Avanzato was taken to Nassau University Medical Center where he died a short time later.
Police are still investigating the matter.
Avanzato's viewing will be at C.S. Bartholomew & Son Funeral Home on Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. His funeral will take place at St. Barnabas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday morning at 10:15 a.m.
