BEWARE - BAD SERVICE at Hershey's Ice Cream - Bedford Ave

I'm sure the ice cream would have been awesome, had we only been allowed to buy it.  We came in with a Living Social deal and the store clerk not only wouldn't honor it, but dismissed us rudely out of her store for trying.  For a store trying to get rid of merchandise a day before closing for the season, selling to us would have been the smart thing to do.  SKIP the Hershey's in Bellmore and take a 5 minute ride to the one in Wantagh.

What is a living social deal? Sounds like a fraud to me.

Lol, it's like Groupon, but you probably haven't heard of that either.

Definitely report it to living social-and yes that is real not fraud.

Before ANYONE can evoke any kind of INFORMED opinion, we need to know what is Living Social??? Without that VITAL info is like signing a bill to find out what's in it....

https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/how_it_works LivingSocial is a nationwide deal-of-the-day website that features discounted gift certificates usable at local or national companies. The deal I purchased was that I spent $7 to get $15 worth of stuff at Hershey's. The clerk did not honor the certificate, or make any attempt to compromise at all. While I was trying to ask questions, the clerk interrupted me several times, cutting me off, disregarding whatever I asked/said and then dismissed us. I just wanted ice cream!!!

Sharon, was the jerk, er, clerck a kid or a vested manager or an owner?
SharonW December 01, 2013 at 04:27 PM
Nope FedUp, the clerk was not a kid. I was so appalled that instead of asking for management, I took the high road and left.

I have heard a lot of people had trouble with the living social deals for some reason. I had a problem once and got a refund. It makes me wonder if living social signs up companies that don't WANT to be signed up. I have never had trouble with a groupon ever so now I stick to those.
SharonW December 01, 2013 at 06:40 PM
Hi EM, Living Social goes in with the company for half the deal. Wish I could say it was them and not a family owned business in Bellmore. It's too bad because it was my first visit there and I love Hershey's ice cream.

It's OK Sharon, the First Lady and Mayor Bloomberg have warned us of the hidden dangers of ice-cream and big gulps...Did you know they are a cause of obesity?..I had no idea until these all-knowing-what's-best-for-me members of the intellegencia were gracious enough to bestow their infinite wisdom on me...I'm now better informed and much healthier...That should go over well with my new obamacare doctors
SharonW December 02, 2013 at 11:41 AM
Thanks for the reminder FedUp...you CRACK me up.
FedUpRealist December 02, 2013 at 12:30 PM
And I won't be patronizing Hersheys on Bedford!!!
