Dorothy Camilleri, owner of Dear Little Dollies on Bedford Avenue has passed away, according to her daughter, Marijane Camilleri.
Camilleri passed away on Jan. 23 and will be waked at Bartholomew's Funeral Parlor on Bedford
Avenue in Bellmore on Saturday and Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and again
from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at
10:45 a.m. at St. Barnabas RC Church on Bedford Avenue in Bellmore.
Camilleri was married to Louis for 65 years and together they raised eight children; Thomas, Dennis,
John, Karen, Joseph, Marijane, Christine and Donna. She is survived also survived by 17 grandchildren.
In lieu of
flowers, the family will be accepting charitable donations to Calvary Hospital, 1740 Eastchester Road Bronx, NY 10461. The person memorialized, Dorothy
C. Camilleri, and the name and address of the donor, must accompany the
donation check made out to the Calvary Fund.
"We had been caring for our mother with all
of the love and attention which she so deserved. Dear Little Dollies
will remain closed as we walk through these days of sorrow," the younger Camilleri wrote in an email.
