Memorial Day Parades Coming to Bellmore-Merrick
Festivities kick off bright and early Monday morning.
On Monday, the people of Bellmore-Merrick will be marching to pay homage to Memorial Day.
In Bellmore, the festivities begin at Newbridge Road School at 9 a.m. The parade begins at 10 a.m., and participants will march south on Bellmore Avenue to Oak Street. They will take that to Bedford Avenue and then go south to the monument.
When they get there, they'll make a left and enjoy another ceremony at 11 a.m.
In Merrick, marchers will gather at 8:45 a.m. that on Veterans (Broadcast) Plaza, between Merrick and Brooklyn Avenues.
The parade will start at 9:30 a.m. and proceed North on Merrick Avenue to the Veterans Monument at Lee Avenue, where a ceremony will be conducted. There will be cars available for those who can't march.
