2. Rick Lavoie, a motivational speaker and an advocate for children with learning disabilities, will speak at East Meadow High School at 7 p.m. Lavoie is known for his video, “F.A.T. City,” as well as his books, “The Motivation Breakthrough” and “It’s so Much Work to be Your Friend.”

4. The North and Central Merrick Civic Association will hold a its monthly meeting at North Merrick Public Library at 7 p.m.
5. A school fundraiser will be held at Tender Shepherd Nursery School in East Meadow all day. All proceeds will go towards helping to improve the learning experience of students.
