NY American Water Reports No Storm-Related Issues

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, New York American Water President William Varley reported there were no major problems throughout its distribution system.

However, New York American Water took precautionary measures to protect the community’s drinking water before the Nor’Easter hit the area.

“Because of the careful preparations taken by our team of professionals, our customers experienced little to no interruptions in their water service last week,” Varley said. “Our crews will be on site 24 hours throughout the anticipated storm again to help ensure that our customers’ water service will not be disrupted.”

New York American Water will continue to make safety for its customers and employees its highest priority. Trained personnel will continue to heavily monitor the water distribution system to watch for potential flooding. American Water crews have been assigned to assess damage throughout the storm.
