NFL Hall of Famer Curtis Martin came to John F. Kennedy High School Monday to sign autographs to raise money for Hurricane Sandy victims in Bellmore-Merrick.

Invited by ESPN Insider and Kennedy Graduate Adam Schefter, Martin donated $10,000 of his own money to get the fundraising started. New York Jets' Owner Woody Johnson followed suit by donating $5,000 as well.

Patch was on hand to capture video of the night that was at JFK High School, and you can enjoy the video above.

Thanks to local mediums like this , I found out about this event on the actual day of the event. So glad I attended , inspite of the huge crowd it was organized, went smoothly and was so worth the wait. Curtis of course was Wonderful, so humble so accomodating and of course so generous. Very proud and grateful to the patch and my son"s future high school JFK, we need more events like this and we need them covered.
