With the arrival of Hurricane Sandy looming, Bellmore residents are taking precautions to help escape the storm unscathed.
We asked residents on Bellmore Patch's
Facebook page what they were doing to prepare for Sandy's arrival.
"I dug out the "wind-up" radios, first aid kit and camping stove," Pete Cippa said. "Then [we] rounded up all the other flashlights in the house and refreshed their batteries with the new ones we bought a few days ago."

"I bought some candles and some food (no refrigerated stuff)," she said. "My husband secured all the outdoor furniture."
