Ever wonder how different Bellmore and Merrick are from their neighbors? And is there an income disparity in different parts of town?

This map has the answers. The map was created by a website called Rich Blocks, Poor Blocks, which has mapped out "how much money people make in every neighborhood in every city in America."

This map is a visual depiction of income levels across Bellmore and Merrick. The cooler colors represent higher incomes and the warmer colors represent lower ones.

According to the website: Source on income data: 2007-2011 American Community Survey. Income figures reflect the U.S. Census definition of income. All map boundaries are Census Tracts.

Rich/Poor Blocks???...Sounds like the class envy drivel being spewed by Santaprompter...Does the site breakdown who worked two or three jobs to pay for the schooling that made it possible to be 'rich'???...Does it tell you whom the 'poor' people are that haven't had a job in years and/or refuse to get off their ass to find one???...How 'bout indicating how much of the rich people's taxes have gone to pay for section 8 flatpanels, androids, & designer sneakers...What about a map of where donations to the needy come from???...How 'bout a map indicating where most crimes take place???...Any and all comparison of rich vs. poor reeks of some sort of class envy...Damn those EVIL rich people!!!...Just what is this real purpose of this 'data'???...Well, at least the criminal element can now pinpoint the best areas to case...

Natalie. I am so sorry to read this. I too have a little 5 yr. old dog who I love desperately...Read More and I feel your pain. There is another website for an organization that does an amazing job finding lost pets. It's LOSTMYDOGGIE.COM There is a small fee, but they get signs up all over the area and have a phone system set up where everyone in the area of where she was lost gets a PHONE CALL ALERT message to watch for Molly. They leave a phone number and their website address so if anyone has seen her or has her they know where to call. Great system! Check it out! I've never used them, but I HAVE received calls myself recently on 2 separate lost dogs and I've seen the many photos they hung up in my area in Levittown for dogs lost within a few miles of this area. In other words, they DO what they say they will do to help find Molly. Just want you to know what is out there to help you bring Molly home. My grandkids go to school around Grand and Camp Ave. We'll be watching for her! God Bless and good luck! I'm sure she will be returned to you real soon!!
