Newbridge Road Park to Host Easter Egg Hunt

The Town of Hempstead and KJOY are teaming up to present an egg-citing “Eggstravaganza” on Saturday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Newbridge Road Park in Bellmore.

Children’s shows, bouncy rides, face painting, food tent, games, give-aways and a traditional egg hunt will highlight the festivities.

“Spring kicks-off with a great day of family fun at the ‘Eggstravaganza’ in beautiful Newbridge Road Park,” Supervisor Kate Murray said. “Along with our good friends at KJOY 98.3 FM, we look forward to entertaining youngsters and their parents with a variety of family activities.”

The “Eggstravaganza” will also feature safety and educational programs including car seat checks, bicycle tips, pet adoptions, child identification and emergency notifications and internet protections. Advanced registration is required for the Car Seat Safety Checks and parents can call 516-538-1900, extension 217 to schedule an appointment.

The day’s musical entertainment will be provided by the popular group “School of Rock” and talented singer Darlene Graham. Cablevision will conduct the interactive Internet Safety Program covering the important topics of cyber-bullying, internet predators and other web dangers.

The egg hunts will be divided into three age categories, 1 to 4, 5 to 8, 9 and up. There will be an 8:30 a.m. registration and check-in for all egg hunt participants. The radio station is encouraging pre-event registration at KJOY.com. Same day registration will also be permitted.

“Eggstravaganza” activities are set to begin at 9 a.m. and the egg hunts start at 11:15 am. Admission and parking are FREE of charge. There is a rain date of Saturday, April 6 with all times remaining the same.

“Round-up the kids, the neighbors and hop on down to Newbridge Road Park for some first rate family fun,” Murray added. “Along with some laughs you’ll be able to learn from important safety programs, that will provide invaluable information for youngsters and adults alike.”
