Holiday Food Drives Around Bellmore-Merrick

A guide to where you can drop off donations.

Want to give back to those less fortunate this holiday season. Take a look at places that you can drop off food donations around Bellmore-Merrick: 

Merrick Public Library: The library will be accepting food donations all year long for Long Island Cares. Merrick Public Library is located at 2279 Merrick Ave. in Merrick.  

Panera Bread: In support of Island Harvest’s annual Turkey and Trimmings Collection Campaign, Panera Breads across Long Island will be accepting non-perishable food items and frozen turkey donations now through Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. The closet Panera Bread location is at 2501 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow.

Saint Barnabas the Apostle Church: Donations of all non-perishable items are being accepted. If you wish to donate a turkey call the church beforehand at (516) 785-0054. Saint Barnabas is located at 2320 Bedford Ave. in Bellmore. 

Stop & Shop: Stop & Shop has teamed up with Island Harvest Food Bank in this year's Turkey and Trimmings Collection Campaign to help supply a holiday style meal to those in need. By purchasing a $10 pre-packaged box, available at any Long Island Stop & Stop store throughout November and December, customers will help Island Harvest provide struggling families and individuals with all of the items necessary for a holiday dinner.Stop & Shop of North Bellmore is located at 2450 Jerusalem Ave. and Stop & Shop of Merrick is located at 2160 Merrick Mall.
