Assemblyman David McDonough, R-Merrick, announced the kickoff of his 10th annual “Coats for Kids” Campaign, which seeks the donation of children’s and adult coats for people in need.
Over the past nine years this campaign has resulted in the donation of over 16,000 coats and outer garments which are then forwarded to organizations for distribution to needy individuals.
“With the cold weather fast approaching, it is time to think of those less fortunate and with the donation of a coat provide those individuals with warm outer garments,” McDonough said. “I am astounded by the past generosity of people and these donations will help keep many needy people warm this winter and it is my privilege to once again be able to conduct this program.”
Anyone interested in making a donation can drop it off at Assemblyman McDonough’s District Office at 404 Bedford Avenue in Bellmore where there will be a collection box until Dec. 14.
