The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical comedy for people who love
musicals! The Drowsy Chaperone pays
tribute to the Jazz-Age shows of the 1920s and their power to lift our spirits
in hard times. The show is narrated by a die-hard musical-theater fan who plays
his favorite musical album on his record player, and the musical literally
bursts to life in his living room. He,
along with the audience is transported to the “The Drowsy Chaperone", a
play-within-a-play full of every cliché, gag and gimmick from the golden age of
musicals, including a hesitant stage star bride, a groom on skates, a
tap-dancing best man, an over-the-top romantic Latin lover, gangsters
(disguised as bakers), and, of course, a tipsy chaperone. So, come enjoy an
evening of uproarious entertainment. You’ll still be laughing long after the
final bow. Performances are March 21 and 22 and 7:30 PM and March 22 and 2:00 PM.
