Jan. 17: North Bellmore BOE News and Martin Luther King Day

A round up of everything you need to know about Bellmore today.

Hopefully everyone had a great weekend. Some of us are lucky enough to have today off, while others of us aren't – either way, here are five things you need to know today!

  • Remember, all schools are closed today due to Martin Luther King Day.
  • Want to know what happened at the latest North Bellmore Board of Education meeting? Check back this morning at 9:30 a.m. to find out.
  • In case you missed it, County Executive Ed Mangano gave a briefing on the Taxpayer Relief Act late last week. See what new things he had to say about the labor contracts with the county's unions.
  • The Mepham wrestling team wrapped up their league schedule on Friday. Be sure to check in at 1 p.m. to see if they pulled out one more win to finish the season.
  • If you're a fan of Pink Floyd and classic rock then head down to the Bellmore Movie Theatre on Pettit Avenue as students from The Rock Underground perform the legendary band's "Darkside of the Moon" in its entirety. The performance starts at 6 p.m., so get there early! Patch will have video coverage of the event up later this week.
