Grab & Go Kids Planner: Baby Animals, Brazilian Crafts and Wizard of Oz

Every week, Patch will be bringing readers the best weekend activities for children in your area.

This week we have a make your own pizza program, baby animal meet and greet, outdoor concert, Brazilian crafts and a production of the Wizard of Oz. Check it all out below:

Make Your Own Pizza Program
Where/When: North Bellmore Public Library; Friday, July 29 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Why Go: Drop your tween or teen off for this fun filled event where everyone will make their own pizza from scratch. A great way for those young chefs to try out their food preparation technique. Participants will make the dough, add sauce and sprinkle cheese on a delicious pizza that can be baked at home.

Where/When: Merrick Public Library; Friday, July 29 at 2 p.m.
Why Go: Baby animals right in your own neighborhood – sounds like the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon with the kids! Green Meadows Farm will be bringing a variety of baby animals to the Merrick Library. Kids will have a chance to interact with the adorable animals – something that will definitely make everyone happy.
Pricing: Free, no registration necessary
 
Boardwalk Bandshell: Completely Unchained
Where/When: Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh; Friday, July 29 at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Pack up the family and head down to this weekly concert series featuring a Van Halen tribute band. The kids can dance to the music in the bandshell, then indulge in an ice cream cone and frolic on the expansive playground just down the boardwalk. The perfect way to spend a beautiful summer evening with the kids!
Pricing: Free
 
Passport to Fun at Michaels: Brazil
Where/When: Michaels in Levittown; Saturday, July 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go: Bring your kids around the world and back in one afternoon at Michaels. As part of the “Passport to Fun” program, this event will focus on Brazilian culture. Children will have a chance to make a Carnival mask and snake craft. For kids over the age of three, please.
Pricing: Free while supplies last.
 
Wizard of Oz in the Park
Where/When: Eisenhower Park in East Meadow; Sunday, July 31 at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Get whisked away to the magical Land of Oz in this spectacular children’s production. The performance is presented by the Plaza Theatrical productions and gives families the perfect excuse to take all of the kids to the park. Enjoy the show under the beautiful summer night sky – the kids will be amazed!
