If you're off from work today, then enjoy your day off, but even if you're not, here are five things you need to know today!

  • It might be a snowy President's Day, but at least temperatures will reach close to 40 degrees and melt whatever snow might have fallen earlier in the day.
  • Potholes have been a big problem this year because of the constant snowfall and freezing temperatures. Check back at 11 a.m. to see how you can submit photos of potholes from around Bellmore and help get the potholes fixed!
  • In case you missed it, our Nassau County Notebook featured some major issues from around the county, including the closing of the Nassau County Crime Lab. Also, be sure to check our Town of Hempstead Notebook!
  • The Mepham Lady Pirates basketball team has had a tremendous season, but one youthful player has been quite a nice surprise for the team. Check back at 4 p.m. for the full story!
