Extension of Tax Deadline Granted for Residents in Bellmore, North Bellmore School Districts

A tax deadline extension has been approved by the governor for several school districts, including Bellmore and North Bellmore.

Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Receiver of Taxes Donald X. Clavin, Jr. had requested the extension for all school districts within the township, however the governor has signed an order that only includes districts which have independently requested an extension.

Accordingly, residents of both the  Bellmore and North Bellmore School Districts may pay their school taxes, without penalty, until Dec. 4.

Residents of all other districts in Hempstead Town must make their payments by not later than Tuesday, Nov. 13, to avoid incurring a penalty.

The November 13 extension is not enough for some of the Nassau county residents who have been hard due to Sandy. Governor Cuomo needs to extend it to the end of the month at least.:)

The extension started on Tuesday November 13th and runs for 3 weeks until December 4th.
