1. Sadly, both the Bellmore and Merrick editors will be saying goodbye to their Patches as of today. Bellmore local editor, Danielle De Souza, will be taking over East Meadow Patch while Merrick local editor, Emily Cappiello, will be moving on in her career. Thank you all for being part of our lives!
2. On Thursday, there was a bomb threat in Merrick at the LIRR station. MTA and Nassau County Police were on the scene but the search came up empty.
3.Huntington boxer Chris Algieri, who trains at Bellmore Kickboxing Academy, improved to 15-0-0 (7KO's), in hard fought performance against Texas fighter Raul Tovar in an eight round junior welterweight bout at The Paramount Theater Saturday. Click here to see the full story.
