Why See a Chiropractor?

Dr. Dana Weissman Timmins explains why everyone should have their spines checked for misalignments to lead you toward a path of Wellness!

Chiropractic care can prevent problems: It keeps you healthy. Chiropractors are able to locate stress-creating distortions in your body, called subluxations, before damage occurs.

From professional athletes to hairdressers and teachers, engineers to electricians, young people to seniors, chiropractic care has been the answer to optimum health. Many people see a chiropractor for back, neck or other joint problems. Still others find that regular visits to their chiropractor keep them in peak condition. Dr. Dana Weissman Timmins of Bellmore Village Chiropractic & Wellness advocates positive lifestyle changes for all her patients and educates them on proper diet, exercise and living a healthier lifestyle which leads to an improved quality of life.

Regularly a dentist checks our teeth, an optometrist checks our eyes and a doctor checks our blood pressure and heart. Yet, we take the spine - a crucial component of our body - for granted. Regular checkups of your spine can help you maintain better health.

Chiropractic is safe: Every health procedure, from taking aspirin to giving blood, involves a level of risk. Chiropractic adjustments are among the safest of all health care interventions because they are non-surgical, drug-free and present an extremely low risk. And they work! Chiropractic has an excellent safety record- malpractice insurance for chiropractors is a tiny fraction of that for medical practitioners.

Chiropractic care is for the whole family: Everyone, from newborn babies to the elderly can benefit from chiropractic care. Many childhood activities have a significant impact on the spine. Learning to ride a bicycle, playing sports and even the birth process can cause spinal problems. Regular spinal check-ups can help identify these problems and help avoid any more problems seen later in adults. As we age, the spine can go through degenerative changes. The benefits of chiropractic care can also be seen as many patients have reported relief of arthritic symptoms and other chronic ailments often associated with the aging process. "The adjusting techniques are modified depending on the age of the patient and the patient's condition in order to give maximum comfort and results," according to Dr. Dana.

What can I expect from my visit to a chiropractor?
As a licensed practitioner, it is the duty of your chiropractor to do the following:

-- A thorough review of your specific problem is conducted, including relevant past history and overall health.
--You will be asked to perform physical tests and movements to help identify the problem.
--In certain situations, an X-ray may be used to confirm the history and examination findings and to investigate for the presence of any underlying bone conditions or pathological developments.
--A diagnosis is made, with treatment options for its resolution outlined. If it is, a plan of treatment is communicated. If it is not a chiropractic problem, an appropriate referral is arranged.
--A prognosis is made, taking into account your general health habits, occupation, stress and activity levels.
--Your response to treatment is monitored by your chiropractor, who looks for an improvement to your specific condition, as well as for changes in your overall health. Two of the basic components of chiropractic care are wellness and prevention. Utilization of exercises, along with nutrition and lifestyle modifications may also be suggested to improve your overall well-being and promote active, patient-centered care.

So Lu Scala never had any children so it might be safe to say you have never been to a PTA meetingRead More or a School Board meeting or a budget presentation so then you would have no idea how the money is spent good or bad. I'm sorry that your neighbors make more than you but like anything else you get what you pay for there are educational requirements for teaching and administration jobs, I'm sure you would be happy if all the school personnel could be replaced by minimum wage earners or better yet we could close all the schools after all you have been out of school for 40 years so you don't need them anymore, but thats not how it works. Why is always the uninformed that speak loudest and longest?

A bit of a surprise considering kids come home with a supply list a mile long (and average $40-$75).
