Put a Little 'Spring' in Your Step!

Does this rainy weather affect how you feel? Find out how chiropractic care can ease the pain!

As this very wet, spring weather continues to surprise us, simple tasks such as bending, lifting and even walking become difficult and painful. However, did you know that the rain itself could be one of the causes of your back pain?

When rain starts to fall, the air pressure around us lowers. The decreased pressure swells our joints and the tissues around the joints (back, neck, shoulder, knee, etc.) instantly become irritated. Young patients need to tackle the issue before it becomes a larger problem, and older patients need to utilize chiropractic treatments to repair their pain.

Once any type of trauma strikes our joints, deterioration begins. This trauma can be due to motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, sitting at a desk for a long time or even built up tension from carrying young children.

The irritation of the joints leads to inflammation and eventual scar tissue. The scar tissue limits joint motion and can even cause chronic pain and stiffness.

Many people begin chiropractic care because of an ache or a pain. Pain can be distracting, debilitating, irritating or annoying. Pain can be chronic, acute, constant or come and go. Pain can be sharp or dull. Pain may be a pain, but pain is not the problem! Pain is a symptom. It’s a warning sign that something is wrong. If your car's check engine indicator lit up, would you ignore it? Would you bring your car to the mechanic to fix the problem? Why ignore those aches and pains in your body? Do you know someone who thinks pain is a problem?

Because for chiropractors, pain is never a problem!

Spring is here and this tends to be a time that we come out of hibernation and begin our outdoor activities such as walking or running, playing sports and gardening.  Regular chiropractic treatments increase joint flexibility and decrease pain. So put a little spring in your step ... get adjusted!
