Local officials celebrated the "Bread Breaking" ceremony of Panera Bread this week.
Town Supervisor Kate Murray, Town Clerk Nasrin G. Ahmad and County Legislator Dave Denenberg witnessed the opening of Long Island's first two-story bakery-cafe on 2375 Merrick Road.
The new eatery offers off-street parking, free WiFi, a fireplace, two dining areas and a community room.
