North Shore Farms Remains in Permitting Process

North Shore Farms has not yet set a date as to when construction will begin or the store will open in North Bellmore.

George M Tsiatis, the managing director of Group 113, LLC, told Patch that they’re still “in the permitting process.”

“Right now, we’re just in the permitting process,” he said. “There’s really no news, and we can’t really project a timeline until they go through.”

The building, located at the intersection of Jerusalem Avenue and Pea Pond Road, housed Rite Aid until 2002, but Rite Aid maintained the lease until 2011. While many clients explored the property, including Western Beef, this is the first client to pass the approval process.

North Shore Farms will be doing minimal work on the exterior of the building, which includes eliminating the area that was used for a drive thru for Rite Aid. That will be replaced by two additional parking spaces, increasing the total number to 86.

Another concern was deliveries, and store officials said that none will be taking place before 6 a.m. or after 10 p.m.
