Nature's Museum Store Sells Items Handmade in Bellmore

This store offers one of a kind jewelry originals made right here in Bellmore.

Looking for a high quality, limited edition gift made right here in the U.S.A? Better yet, made right here in Bellmore? Then look no further than Nature's Museum Store.

Owned by brothers Steve and Matt Lazar, Nature's Museum Store is the retail store that opened last April in the front of the company's 12,000 square foot factory. The brothers opened the store to showcase the unique pieces they have been manufacturing for the last 40 years. The store carries a jewelry line of museum and nature reproductions for both men and women, as well as home accessories. Representatives sell the products all over the world, but the company is most proud of the fact that all their products are made right here in Bellmore.

"We are one of the last jewelry manufacturer's in this country selling products made here, not made overseas," said Matt Lazar. "And the store is more like a museum or a gallery than just a store."

In the short time the store has been open the Lazars have wasted no time giving back to the community - in which they both not only work, but live in as well.

"We host parties for organizations in the area and 10 percent of the proceeds from the party goes back to the organization," explained Matt.

This past Christmas, the store also carried a line of ornaments from the 9/11 Fund with a portion of those proceeds donated to the fund.

"We will soon be carrying a line of jewelry and table top accessories from the 9/11 Fund also and we will be donating 10 percent of that line to the fund as well," Matt said.

The store also produces a limited edition line of Art to Wear jewelry modeled after art deco designer Erte, which are sold with signed certificates of authenticity. A current exhibit featured at the store spotlights rocks, minerals and fossils which are sure to delight both young, old and everyone in between. Tours of the on site factory are offered as well and occasionally the store hosts a Night at the Museum, which features an extended evening of shopping and the chance to win a raffle of gift certificates.

The store also buys gold, silver and diamonds and will host in home parties for those who wish to sell their jewelry out of the privacy of their homes. Jewelry and watch repair service are also available on the premises. Products can be purchased online as well.
