Lighting Improvements Slated for Jerusalem Avenue

North Bellmore Civic Association President Renaldo Nunez recently addressed community members regarding lighting improvements that are being implemented along Jerusalem Avenue.

“We got a grant to place lighting along Jerusalem Avenue,” Nunez said. “So far, lighting has only been installed on the south side.”

The improvements were supposed to cover both the north and south sides of the street on a path stretching from Pea Pond Road to Newbridge Road.

“Somehow, we still not have gotten the other side done,” Nunez said. “We have to contact the City Councilmen to find out exactly what’s happening to that street.”

Left turn signals between Oakfield and Newbridge would do a lot more for Jerusalem than more antique lighting. However that might take money from a different pocket.
