Bites Nearby: Five Guys

Check out a new local restaurant each week on Bellmore Patch.

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Bellmore Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. This week we head back over to Merrick Road in neighboring Merrick!

Five Guys: Not all burger joints are created equally and Five Guys is proof of that fact.

Where else are patrons entitled to all toppings for free? That’s right, and we’re not just talking about your standard cheese, pickles and homemade sauce either. Ready for a complete list of all the toppings you get to choose from during a visit to Five Guys? Mayo, relish, onions, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, grilled onions, mustard, jalapeno peppers, green peppers, barbecue sauce, A-1 steak sauce and hot sauce. Say that five times fast.

Let’s get back to the meat of the situation, though. In addition to the ever-beloved hamburger and cheeseburger, guests can also add some bacon onto that bun for an additional charge.

Five Guys burgers are quite filling, as any beef-eating guest would know. Therefore, they have the “Little Hamburger,” “Little Cheeseburger,” “Little Bacon Burger” and “Little Bacon Cheeseburger” for those who can’t quite finish one of the traditional burgers.

While Five Guys is known for its burgers, not everyone wanders in desiring one. Luckily for this population, Five Guys has a “Dogs & Sandwiches” section on the menu, which includes Kosher style hot dogs, cheese or bacon dogs, bacon cheese dog and veggie or grilled cheese.

Don’t forget about the delectable fries at Five Guys. Fire lunch up with the Cajun fries or stay cool with a regular order. While even the regular size is quite filling, they are so delicious that you’ll find you and your date craving more if you don’t go for the large. Even better than the fantastic taste of the fries is the fact that they are cooked in pure, no cholesterol peanut oil. Your doctor probably isn’t going to recommend swapping fries for vegetables at every meal any time soon, but at least you know that you’re eating the best possible fries you can have without losing the flavor that everyone loves.

Top off the meal with a bottle of water or a refreshing Coca-Cola beverage (free refills!).

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://BuzzSave.com

Natalie. I am so sorry to read this. I too have a little 5 yr. old dog who I love desperately...Read More and I feel your pain. There is another website for an organization that does an amazing job finding lost pets. It's LOSTMYDOGGIE.COM There is a small fee, but they get signs up all over the area and have a phone system set up where everyone in the area of where she was lost gets a PHONE CALL ALERT message to watch for Molly. They leave a phone number and their website address so if anyone has seen her or has her they know where to call. Great system! Check it out! I've never used them, but I HAVE received calls myself recently on 2 separate lost dogs and I've seen the many photos they hung up in my area in Levittown for dogs lost within a few miles of this area. In other words, they DO what they say they will do to help find Molly. Just want you to know what is out there to help you bring Molly home. My grandkids go to school around Grand and Camp Ave. We'll be watching for her! God Bless and good luck! I'm sure she will be returned to you real soon!!
